Letter to the Editor

Mountain Home is the best city ever

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Dear editor:

I just read the letter from Mr. Bradbury, who is a very intelligent man. I love reading his letters to you and all of us. I think you chose the correct title for his letter.

But I do not think it applies to most people in Mountain Home as most of us are either active duty Air Force or military veterans who retired here in Mountain Home. I know I am a retired veteran and I love Mountain Home. It is the best city I ever lived in. We have very little crime here, probably because we have such good people who live here.

I moved here in 1989 after I retired from the United States Navy. It is the best city I ever lived in. I hope all your readers love it to.

I think they do as many turn out for Air Force Appreciation Day. I know I love Mountain Home, ID. and the wonderful people who live here. Thank You Mountain Horne residents.

I also love our newspaper, the Mountain Home News. It prints letters from all of us, not just a chosen few.

I hope all of us appreciate this wonderful town as much as I do.

Barbara J. Larson

  • Mike Bradbury, read your article and have one reply to it. I was born and raised and lived most of my life in California. I have no idea "what " you are referring to making your statement ; unfortunately Mountain Home DOES have people living here that would be much better suited and understood in California. That is the most ignorant statement I have ever read. My husband and I moved to Mountain Home to retire. We live modestly, have a garden we tend, pay our bills with our Social Security , support the local businesses in town, give to the food banks, and love our neighbors, ( they are from California as well.. retired military ) Maybe it is time for you to move to another 3410 population town to satisfy your needs. What were you thinking by making that extremely rude , hurtful statement ?
