Skyview 3, Mountain Home 0

The Lady Tigers played hard, but lost in three straight last week at Skyview, losing the first set 8-25, dropping the second 18-25 and the third 17-25.

"We showed up ready to play hard," said Lady Tigers volleyball coach Jill Peterson. "I don't think the score really reflects how hard we worked. I'm pleased with our passing, and we got a lot of touches on their hits and quite a few ups on defense.

"In the third set we started strong and then had trouble converting our third contact," the coach added. "Overall, we improved from the first set to the third."

Demery Dean had six kills and a service ace. Mattie Bennett had five kills and two aces, Sable Lohmeier had five kills, Jessica Ruffing had three kills, four digs and an ace, and Ksyenya Peterson had 17 assists and nine digs.

Kuna 3, Mountain Home 0

The Lady Tigers lost a conference volleyball match in three straight sets Thursday night at Kuna.

Mountain Home came close to winning both the first and second sets, losing the first 20-25 and the second 22-25, but then fell behind early in the third set and never was able to get anything going, losing 11-25.

"We started off strong tonight and really battled with Kuna the first and second set," said Coach Peterson. "We had more long rallies than we've had all season and even won a few of them. We really struggled in the third set with serve-receive and finishing a lay."

Overall, the Lady Tigers did better at defending their end of the court, the coach said.

"We got more touches on blocks tonight than we have in past games," she added.

Demery Dean led Mountain Home with nine kills and a service ace. Mattie Bennett had six kills and Ksyenya Peterson had 17 assists and two service aces.

Mountain Home closes out its regular season schedule this week. They hosted Caldwell for Senior Night on Monday and travel to Middleton today, Oct. 15. The District III 4A Volleyball Tournament begins Monday.
