Huge country music festival planned here in 2015

Thursday, October 9, 2014

A huge country music festival that could draw as many as 25,000 people to Elmore County was announced Tuesday.

Among the headline acts signed to perform are Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia Line.

The Mountain Home Country Music Festival will be held July 31 through Aug. 2 of next year, 2015, at a site that will be prepared on the prairie in northern Elmore County.

The location will be on the flats just northeast of the Highway 20 turnoff to Pine/Featherville, known as the Faulkner property, where a stage and campsite for visitors will be built for the show.

The festival in Elmore County will be the third in a "family" of events Bi-Mart has sponsored in Brownsville and Sixes, Ore. Now entering its eighth season, the Bi‑Mart Willamette Country Music Festival in Brownsville hosted over 25,000 fans in 2014. The Cape Blanco Country Music Festival in Sixes on the Oregon coast boasted 15,000 in attendance its first year in 2014.

The design for the Mountain Home event, approved by the county planning and zoning commission last week, foresees a maximum capacity of 25,000 people.

"We couldn't be happier to announce that the Mountain Home Country Music Festival will bring to Idaho what we've created in Oregon," said Anne Hankins president of Willlamette Country Concerts, LLC, the promoters organizing the event. "We think the fans will make Mountain Home the destination for country music and camping in Idaho."

For more details see Wednesday's Mountain Home News. For ticket information go to the festival's website at: http://mountainhomefestival.com

Blake Shelton is one of the featured performers that will appear at the festival.

  • I have been to the Brownsville concerts, love it, so excited to know we will have a venue closer to home. Is there a phone number to call for more information?

  • This is a great thing for Mountain Home! Someone needs to please take a look at the commercial we have airing right now. It has horrible sound and the graphics are terrible! It's kind of embarrassing to Mountain Home when we are trying to advertise a huge event.

YES, I spoke to our commenter this morning and they were referencing a commercial they saw on television which I have no control over. I do try to keep our information current and correct but hopefully someone will contact the station and its get cleared up. We also added a ticket and information link to our story here on our website for you.

    thanks, B

  • I absolutely love that Mountain Home is doing this. It will be wonderful for the community and surrounding areas! However, having 25000+ camping in the middle of fire season is temping fate a little.

  • Happy to hear Bimart is expanding to Idaho. We live near Boise and have tickets to both the Sixes and Brownsville Oregon Concerts. This will be our 5th year at Brownsville and second year at Sixes. We love the concerts.

We always purchase the camping passes as we travel in our 5th wheel and love the early morning activities and the camaraderie as we camp near the same people.

A couple things to remember is bring your patience as there will be thousands of other people going to the same place you want to go to and especially remember most of the workers running the concert are first time Volunteers, and they work long hours.

We are looking forward to and already planning for next years concerts and I am not even a Country Western fan but these concerts are just fun.

    Thanks Bimart
