Letter to the Editor

Scouting a great outlet

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Dear editor:

I like Scouts because it helps me to be a good citizen, to learn important skills, and to do outdoor activities.

It helps me to be a good citizen by learning the Pledge of Allegiance and to do what is right.

I learned to do first aid, swimming, cooking and outdoor skills.

Outdoor activities I have done are camping and hiking. I especially like nature.

Campouts are the best because I learn new things, not just playing around, but also about the outdoors.

  • Samuel, I'm so glad to hear you're getting a lot out of scouting!

I've been an adult member of the BSA for nearly 4 years and the scouts I've met as a Merit Badge counselor are all ambitious and intelligent young who will definitely make great citizens!

    Keep it up!
