ISP warns of telephone scam

The Idaho State Police continues to take new reports across various parts of Idaho of people receiving telephone calls from someone claiming to be from the Idaho State Police.

The number appearing on the phone's caller ID shows up as an actual number from the state police, but the number was spoofed, meaning the calling party is deliberately falsifying the telephone number and name shown in the caller ID to disguise their identity.

    I have been receiving these calls since the 1970's. Someone else finally figured out it was a scam...

  • Another one is calling cell phones and saying that they are with the IRS and that people are going to be arrested for tax evasion. Wish I knew what fuels the minds of those who don't want to work and honest days work but want to take advantage of others.
