Deadlines approach for fall election

Elmore County citizens can now request that absentee ballots for the Nov. 4 election be mailed to them.

Three precincts, Atlanta, Camas and Chattin Flats, do not have polling sites and must vote by mailed absentee ballot (or at the courthouse). The ballots for those precincts will be mailed out Oct. 14 to all registered voters. For all others, the last day anyone can submit, in writing, a request to have an absentee ballot mailed to them is Oct. 29.

Mailed absentee ballots, of all types, must be received by county election officials by 8 p.m. on Nov. 4 to be counted in the election.
