Thomason crowned 2014 homecoming queen

Rich Sykes beams proudly as his stepdaughter, McKenzie Thomason, was crowned the 2014 Queen of the Homecoming Court during halftime of Friday's game against Jerome.

A week of friendly competitions between classmates and the crowning of Senior McKenzie Thomason as this year's homecoming queen were simply not enough to overcome Mountain Home High School's streak of bad luck on the gridiron.

Down by six going into halftime, the Mountain Home Tigers were unable to post any more points in the closing minutes. With the clock running out, the varsity football squad fell to Jerome High School in another homecoming heartbreaker (See story page B-1).

Despite the loss, Principal Jeff Johnson considered this year's homecoming week one of the best he's seen. Students, regardless of which class they were from, all came together to help one another. It's something Johnson admits he's not seen before.
