Letter to the Editor

Leaders give tax money to illegals

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Dear editor:

I always read Mr, Bradbury's letter after I read yours. I had never heard the word disenfranchisement before so I looked it up in my dictionary and I see many of our leaders use it without saying they are doing it.

It basically means free from a pledge or obligation. Our elected officials do it all the time.

Mr. Bradbury is a very smart and intelligent man. He knows how our leaders get away with giving our hard-earned money, not theirs, to people who are not legally supposed to even BE here. They get free food, medical and all the perks, but we have to pay for ours as our premiums keep rising. I blame Obama for this.

My ancestors came from England and Sweden with no handouts. They came knowing how to work and they worked for a living. They also brought their skills and labor and helped our nation in time of war.

We owe a lot to our ancestors but not to people who come here illegally. They should work and pay back what we gave them, even if it takes a long time.

We are supposed to be a free nation but our leaders give our tax money to people who are not American citizens and want to raise our taxes to do so.

If our leaders want to support these illegals, let them give their personal money as they make more money than most of us average citizens do.

They like to tax us but give themselves pay increases. This is taxation without representation, our forefathers fought for.

Barbara J. Larson
