X-country team to host meet Thursday

Last Saturday, the Mountain Home Tiger cross country runners competed in a fun run called the "Splash and Dash Meet" at Ponderosa State Park in McCall.

"This was a race for fun," said Tigers cross country coach Doug Root. "The runners who attended were divided into ten teams made up of runners from all the schools. Then they had to come up with a team chant, then they had the race, with boys and girls together and they made up teams, so we had runners on all the teams. This was just for fun."

However, the Tigers did record a number of personal bests at that event, the coach added.

Kyle Pendleton had a new personal best time of 18 minutes, 24.93 seconds. Josh Robinson ran the course in 18:27.04. John Goodell had a new PR time of 19:28.98. Nolan Pasqualetti finished in a time of 19:46.86.

Meanwhile, David Catts came in at 20:20.59, just ahead of Christopher Payne, who had his best time of 20:21.74. Riley Urquidi ran a 21:38.11.

Elisabeth Stephens had her best time of the season, running a 22:03.80. Alexis Georgianna had a new PR of 23:26.00. Shilo Clark came in at 23:58.45, Bianca Shrader ran a 26:55.12 and Audrea Dickenson ran the course in 29:30.76.

The Tigers will host the Mountain Home Invitational Thursday at Desert Canyon Golf Course. According to Root, the event will feature 13 teams, including Mountain View, Elko as well as District III 4A competitors from Kuna, Skyview and Middleton.

Action is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
