Cross-county team places

The Mountain Home Tigers cross country teams traveled to Sun Valley Friday for the Wood River Invitational cross country meet at Sage Willow Athletic Center in Elkhorn.

The Tiger boys finished sixth in the 3A-4A division, while Mountain Home's girls were seventh.

Twin Falls won the boys meet with 57 points. Jerome was second with 91, while host Wood River finished third with 103 points. Kimberly came in with 125, for fourth, Burley was fifth with 139 and Mountain Home was sixth with 148, just ahead of Minico's 150. Canyon Ridge was next (163), followed by Buhl (181), Gooding (243) and Filer (254).

Anthony DeSantis finished eighth to lead the Tiger boys. Individual times were unavailable at press time.

Twin Falls also won the girls race, finishing with 40 points, ahead of Jerome's 58. Wood River was third with 85, Kimberly was fourth with 121, followed by Filer (133) and Canyon Ridge (135). Mountain Home was seventh with 174 points, followed by Buhl (176), Wendell (223) and Gooding (225). Emily Lampman and Shilo Clark led the Mountain Home girls squad. Individual times were unavailable at press time.

"The girls and boys both ran well," said Tigers cross country coach Doug Root.

Mountain Home also took teams that raced in the middle school races. Mountain Home's girls team won the meet, while the Mountain Home boys finished fifth.

Next up for the Tigers will be the Dash and Splash at Ponderosa State Park in McCall on Saturday.
