Virginia Wisherd, beloved wife of Floyd E. Wisherd Jr., passed away at her home, with her family by her side, on Aug. 28, 2014.

She was born on May 1, 1932, to Frank and Victoria Popiel in Wibaux, Mont. The family later moved to Missoula, Mont., where she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and met and married Floyd Wisherd Jr., her husband of 62 years.

They continued their married life travelling the world from Florida to Alaska and Germany with the U.S. Air Force.

Together, they raised two daughters, Cherri and Sandi. She loved her life as a fulltime mother and homemaker making a comfortable, loving home for her family wherever they roamed.

They settled in Mountain Home, Idaho, in 1972, where she enjoyed camping , fishing and trail bike riding for many years.

They eventually settled in to a comfortable, rewarding retired lifestyle.

She thoroughly enjoyed planning her day around the lunch-hour day trips. From Boise to Glenns Ferry and Black Sands, they were known and loved by owners, employees and patrons of the many lunchtime eating establishments. She considered many of them as family and friends.

She is survived by: her husband, Floyd Wisherd Jr.; her daughters, Cherri Nix of Mountain Home and Sandi Clark of Red Oak, Texas; son-in-law Gary Clark of Red Oak, Texas; grandchildren Aimee (Chance), Brandon (Crystal) and Steven (Jennie), and four great-grandchildren, Katie, Andrew, Gina and Chase, one step-grandchild Brianna and many sisters, brother, nieces and nephews who all loved her very dearly.

Funeral is at Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home on Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.
