A time for tea & adventure

Addison Kiggins takes a sip of juice as the two-year-old participated in the city library's Fifth Annual American Girl Tea on Saturday.

Dozens of young girls and their parents gathered at the library to be a part of the formal tea, sponsored by the Friends of the Mountain Home Library.

Meanwhile, boys gathered outside of the library to join the first-ever Dangerous Day for Boys, which featured various outdoor activities and a camp lunch.

Pete Humm provides a few pointers as Juan Sedano uses a scaled-down catapult to launch rubber chickens into various targets as the youngster took part in the library's Dangerous Day for Boys event.
Keira Fryer pretends to serve tea to her doll, Holly Lynn, prior to the start of Saturday's formal tea. The event marked the introduction this year of an American Girl known as Julie, whose stories take part in the 1970s. As part of this year's tea, participants were invited to dress up in '70s-era fashions.
