More car-bike incidents concern police

Friday, August 29, 2014

Mountain Home Police responded to two separate incidents involving a vehicle and a bicyclist last week.

"Both incidents could have been avoided by either the driver or the bicyclist. We were very fortunate that both individuals only received minor injuries as a result," said Officer Melanie Broughton, public affairs officer for the Mountain Home Police Department.

All drivers are reminded to keep their eyes open for bicyclists or pedestrians and to drive carefully not only through school zones but along routes often used by schoolchildren to get to and from school.

Parents are reminded to sit down with their children and review safety procedures for both riding bicycles and walking to and from school.
