Jordan Gantt, 21, was arrested by Mountain Home police over the weekend and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm after he allegedly shot at another man outside a downtown bar early Sunday morning.

Gantt was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with another male in the Main Street Bar around midnight early Sunday. The argument apparently then went outside where Gantt allegedly pulled a pistol and shot one round, which missed the victim. No one else was injured by the round that was fired, but authorities have not released where the round wound up (although it is believed it went through a window of the bar). Authorities also have not released the caliber of the weapon.

Gantt fled on foot and was apprehended by city police officers who were in the vicinity of the incident at the time it occurred.

He was charged with aggravated assault, grand theft by receiving stolen property, destroying or concealing evidence (by attempting to hide the weapon) and resisting arrest. The felonies could theoretically total as much as 24 years in prison if Gantt is convicted.

He arraigned Monday by video conference from the county jail before Magistrate Judge David Epis Monday afternoon, who set bond at $150,000, noting that the allegations against Gantt were "serious." Gantt said "I'm not that bad" and that he was "living hard" after all the charges were read against him. He was assigned a public defender and is due back in court for an attorney appearance on Wednesday.

According to County Prosecutor Christina Schindele, Gantt had a prior local criminal history that dates back to when he was a juvenile, ranging from various status offenses to charges including possession of stolen property in 2008, separate incidents involving grand theft, aggravated assault, and possession and delivery of a controlled substance in 2009, DUI, petty theft and probation violation in 2011, battery (in Ada County) in 2013, and a battery charge in Massachusetts.

A former Mountain Home resident, Gantt apparently had been living most recently in Massachusetts and had been in Mountain Home visiting his mother, according to information released during his arraignment.

There also are felony warrants out for his arrest in Ada County, where he also has a history of breaking the law going back to his days as a juvenile. If he bonds out here, he will be transported to Ada County for arraignment on the charges in that jurisdiction.
