Mountain Home lost one of it loveliest and friendliest women recently. Her smiled was shared with anyone she met and she always had a complement for everyone.

Betty's journey started on June 4, 1925, in Minnesota, with her parents, George and Johanna Stubblefield, and her brother, "Little Red."

She fondly described her parents as very loving and she received her lead to follow Jesus from her father, learning the old church hymns while they sang washing dishes.

After moving to Moscow, Idaho, she graduated from Moscow High School in 1944. She completed business school at Kinman Business University in Spokane, Wash., which lead her to her first job in Mountain Home at the "Agriculture Adjustment Agency. "

Friends were made quickly and she soon knew she was home. Loving to dance, she met her soon to be husband, Steve Bresnahan, at a USO dance while he was playing in the band.

After marrying in 1947, they had four children and 35 years of a beautiful marriage.

Starting in 1974, they proudly owned and operated Steve's Auto Repair, where she again brought her business skills into use.

Throughout their marriage they shared a strong spiritual faith, being very involved in the Catholic Church. For many years she sang in the choir, was active in Altar Society, made deep relationships in many Bible studies and was involved in St. Vincent de Paul. Her deep faith sustained her through the death of her teenage son, David, and then the loss of her beloved husband.

She later married Everett Wood and they enjoyed traveling and square dancing until his death.

She loved to entertain and her meals were delicious.

Betty's love of flowers was obvious in and around her home and her patio was her garden paradise, which she enjoyed on a daily basis.

She again found companionship with Frank Hicks and they enjoyed many events together until his death.

Every Saturday morning, she could be found at Grinde's Diner with her Saturday Morning Grouping.

Her happiest times, were when she spent time with her family and they had a very close relationship.

Her wish, and she received it, was to dance at her grandchildren's wedding and to see Cheyenne graduate.

Family times will never be the same without her and she is already deeply missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, son and husbands.

She is survived by Susan (Arg) White, Jan (Bob) Kimbrough, Steve (Beth) Bresnahan, seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Donations in Betty's honor can be made to St. Vincent de Paul, c/o Rost Funeral Home, 500 N. 18th East, Mountain Home, ID 83647.
