Arlene "Gram" Fulton went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 4, 2014, at a Boise hospital with family by her side.

A private visitation and memorial was held in Mountain Home, and a memorial and burial of her ashes beside her beloved husband, Merle "Pop" Fulton will be held outside of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Arlene was born on July 2, 1921, in Pennsylvania to John and Ruth (Rosborough) Hawk.

She lived her life quietly, simply, lovingly, bravely, positively, with so much strength and faith and provided absolute unconditional love to her family and others. She took great pride in being everyone's "Gram" and preferred all refer to her as such. To her husband, lifelong friends, and east coast family she was fondly referred to as "Beanie."

Arlene married Merle Fulton, also from Pennsylvania, in 1942 and enjoyed a dedicated marriage of 52 years.

Arlene graduated from college, earning her nursing degree and proudly worked as an RN for 42 years.

Throughout her life she enjoyed softball, basketball, golf, a variety of crafts, and was a very talented seamstress.

Her daughter was the apple of her eye and her grandchildren were a primary focus of her life. She simply enjoyed time with family and friends. That is when she was happiest.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Pam Culp, and son-in-law, Nelson Culp, of Mountain Home, her grandson, Greg Culp, of Fruitland, her granddaughter, Jodie Wedman and husband Dennis (Melissa and Lisa) of Boise, and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Fulton, a brother, John Hawk, and two great grandchildren, Ashley and Phillip.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to the First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund at 1400 N. 3rd East St., Mountain Home, ID 83647, or to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Foundation at 1055 N Curtis Rd., Boise, ID 83706.

The family would like to thank everyone for all of their love and support through this difficult journey.
