Youth center closed after asbestos discovery

The Mountain Home Youth Center remains closed as city officials look at options to deal with asbestos and other potentially toxic materials detected inside the building.

The discovery happened last week as volunteers continued to renovate the interior of the building, located at 130 North Main Street.

The goal was to remove most of the elevated stages inside the facility originally installed when the building served as a bar.
