Easter dash

Thursday, April 24, 2014

Children make a dash across Carl Miller Park during the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt Sunday afternoon.

Sponsored each year by Sabre Lodge No. 7, Free and Accepted Prince Hall Masons, hundreds of older children packed into the city park in hopes of collecting their share of eggs with a separate area set aside next to East Elementary School for toddlers and younger children.

Members of the local Masons organization spread 1,200 eggs over both fields with the children swooping them up in a matter of seconds.

Ashley Zakrzewski takes inventory of the eggs she was able to grab during Sunday's festivities.
