One of the fun traditions of the Easter season are the annual Easter egg hunts.

Some churches and families hold their own, but there are several community events in the area.

Mountain Home

The Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt in Mountain Home, sponsored by Sabre Lodge No. 7, Free and Accepted Prince Hall Masons, will take place on Sunday, April 20, beginning at 1 p.m. at Carl Miller Park.

This event is open to all children.

Older children will utilize the entire grassy area of the main park.

A separate area is held for toddlers 4 years of age and under on the East Elementary School playground. The smaller children will receive Easter baskets to get them started.

The Lodge also offers a hunt for children with disabilities in the cook-shack area.

For further information, contact Douglas Hoston Sr. at 599-0384, James J. Rentie Jr. at 590-0330, or any member of Sabre Lodge No. 7.

River of Life

The River of Life Family Worship Center will hold a free public family day Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Carl Miller Park.

Grand View

King Hill

The King Hill Community Presbyterian Church will host its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 1 p.m. All children, ages toddler to 12 years old, are invited to participate.

Easter craft activities will follow the egg hunt, with prizes awarded to each age group.

Refreshments will be served.

Pine-Featherville

The Snowriders Snowmobile Club will sponsor an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 20, at 1 p.m. at the Elk Valley Golf Course near Featherville.

After the hunt a raffle will be held for a 29-inch flat screen TV, Cabele's gift card and a Coleman cooler. The cost is $5 per ticket or five tickets for $20. A silent auction will feature baked goods of various types.

In addition, a free barbecue will be held.

The Easter bunny and three chicks will be there to play with the children and have their pictures take with them.

A free children's raffle also will be held with "lots of prizes for kids," a spokesperson for the snowmobile club said.
