Track and field teams earn 11 first-place awards at tri-meet

The Mountain Home girls won Friday's home track meet while the boys finished second.

Mountain Home had eight first-place efforts in winning the girls' competition with 71.5 points. Kuna was second and Columbia third.

Whitney Sandberg won the 100-meter dash, was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team (with Alexandra Tatum, Jacci Cristobal and Tracey Gordon) and 4x200-meter relay team (with Jacci Cristobal, Kaitlyn Whiteley and Kristan Jackson), which both also took first. She also had a third-place finish in the 200 meters.

Besides her 4x100-meter relay, Tracey Gordon won the 400 meters and took second in the 200 meters.

Makena Carson won the 300-meter hurdles, finished second in the 100-meter high hurdles and was a member of the medley relay team (with Kamilyn Wright, Yuridia Ayala and Heather Baronsky) that finished second.

Sable Lohmeier won the discus throw, was a member of the 4x400-meter relay (with Arisha Karren, Heather Baronsky and Kristan Jackson) that finished first, and took second in the shot put. Besides being on the winning 4x100-meter relay team, Alexandra Tatum won the long jump, finished second in the triple jump, and was fourth in the 100 meters.

Elisabeth Stevens finished second in the 3,200-meter run.

Kaitlin Whiteley finished third in the 300-meter hurdles and was fourth in the pole vault.

Besides her two winning relays, Jacci Cristobal placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump. Allyson Elms tied for third in the high jump.

Fourth-place efforts went to Cortney Yulis in the 400-meters, Arisha Karren in the 800-meters and Audrey Ling in the triple jump.

The Tiger boys finished second in the boys competition with 51 points, behind Kuna's 89 points.

Mountain Home had three first-place finishes in the boys competition.

Devin Wright won the 110-meter high hurdles. He was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay (along with Eric Reetz, Abrahan Salas and Andy Croft) that finished second.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Jonathan Deese, John Thomas Frierson, Jacob Ryan and Sam Benzie took first, as did the medley relay team consisting of Frierson, AJ Daniels, Nigel Whitfield and Nolan Pasqualetti.

Jett Cristobal finished second in the triple jump, was a member of the second place 4x200-meter relay team (with AJ Daniels, Jacob Ryan and Sam Benzie), and finished fourth in the long jump.

Abrahan Salas was second in the 400-meters and Eric Reetz finished second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Cody Boguslawski finished second in the discus throw and third in the shot put.

Tristan Jammerman was third in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.

Other third-place efforts went to Jonathan Deese in the 100-meter dash, AJ Daniels in the 200 meters, Nolan Pasqualetti in the high jump, Luke Lockhart in pole vault, and Sam Benzie in the long jump.

Fourth-place efforts also went to Joshua Robinson in the 400 meters and Jose Ortiz in the shot put.

The Tigers go to Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls for the Canyon Ridge Invitational track meet Friday.
