AFAD committee seeks theme for 2014 parade

The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce and its Air Force Appreciation Day Committee are seeking help from local residents to select a theme for the yearly celebration.

The 54th Annual Air Force Appreciation Day theme will be used on tickets and posters promoting the event, which pays tribute to those stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and other military members living in Idaho.

The theme is also a key component for the judging criteria used to rate floats and other entries during the annual parade.

This year's celebration is scheduled for Sept. 6 with some preliminary activities planned for the evening of Sept. 5.

The deadline to submit proposed themes for this year's contest is April 18. People must submit all entries to the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce office, located at 205 North 3rd East Street. The winner of the contest will earn $50 in Chamber bucks.
