Nancy Leora Shields Campbell passed away quietly at her home on March 29, 2014, in Glenns Ferry.

At Nancy's request, no services will be held but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

On Nov. 9, 1939, Nancy Leora Shields Campbell joined the Shields family, her father Harry Taylor, her mother Ellen Lorensen, her older sister Dorothy Ellen Shields. She was born in the family home in Julesburg, Colo.

Nancy went to school for the first six grades in Julesburg, when her father passed away in 1952, Ellen, Dorothy and Nancy moved to Boise, where she attended North Junior High and Boise High until the tenth grade when she went to Boise Business College.

She was a nurse's aide at St. Luke's for five years. Also taking food trays to the patients.

Nancy met the love of her life in 1957, Dale DuWayne Campbell, they were marred on April 6, 1958, in Boise. To this union a son, Robert (Bob), and a daughter, Jean, was born.

They lived in Mountain Home until 1965 when they moved to Glenns Ferry.

In Mountain Home, Nancy worked as a waitress and a police matron for the police and sheriff's offices. She also worked on potato farms doing various jobs.

In Glenns Ferry she was a waitress, had a catalog store and tended bar for several years.

In 1983, they moved back to Mountain Home to care for Dales' aunt.

She was a member of the Elmore Historical Museum, Inc., where she spent several years as president.

In 1997, Dale and Nancy moved to Bruneau, where Dale passed away. After Dale's passing she moved to Grand View, and spent several winters in Arizona working for H&R Block.

Nancy spent several years living with the Paul and Deb Shrum family, helping out where she could and moving back to Mountain Home with them.

She worked at the Oregon Trail Store for three years until it closed. In Mountain Home, she once again worked for the museum and the Mountain Home shuttle as a dispatcher.

In 2008, she moved to Moorcroft, Wyo., where she was a security guard at a coal mine and to be close to her son, Bob, and his family. In 2011 she moved back to Boise to be nearer to her daughter, Jean, grandson Josh and great-grandsons Branson and Trenton.

Her family always came first and she had a lot of extended family.

Nancy is survived by her so,n Bob (Sharon), daughter Jean (partner Kelley), grandson Josh (Sarah), granddaughter Shannon (Ross) Caming, granddaughter Candace (Bradon) Nelson, Wacey Linniman, great-grandsons Hayden, Branson, and Trenton Campbell, great-granddaughters Blakelsy and Lucy.

Nancy was a mom and grandmother to many extended people.
