Letter to the Editor

Sometimes, the punishments don't fit crimes

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

Dear editor:

Every Wednesday I wait for my Mountain Home paper to come. I read my paper and as I do I can cuss out our city council.

But this Wednesday, I can't. For I can't understand our city courts. On Section A, Page 5, you have a man that commits child abuse. The baby is 11 months old. The man receives seven years probation. But he said he didn't know what he was doing.

I ask, does a leopard ever change its spots! Baby suffered broken leg and other!

Then, you have a lady that steals thousands of dollars. This she took to pay bills. She may receive up to seven years in prison and also paying restitution.

As yourself, seven years probation child abuse or seven years in prison for stealing money?

And as for (last week's letter) about dog control, yes, I agree that six cats or dogs are too much. But any man that walks down our streets with a five- or six-foot stick in his hands and then rises it up to hit at a dog, what do you think what a dog will do? Yes, I too am tired cleaning up poop out of my yard.
