Becky Jo Houston, 62, of Mountain Home, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at a local hospital.

A viewing for the wife of C.D. Houston will be held Wednesday, March 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 515 E. 15th North St., in Mountain Home. Burial will follow at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28, at the Veteran's Cemetery in Boise.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.

Becky was born on April 30, 1951, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of William and Hazel Maxine Reed, the first of seven children.

She grew up in the Kansas City, Mo., area and graduated from Northeast High School. She subsequently earned her nursing degree and worked at hospitals in Kansas City.

She joined the Air Force in 1976 and met Cladis Davon "C.D." Houston in 1980 at Scott Air Force Base.

They married Jan. 13, 1984, in Seoul, South Korea.

To that union was born Matthew on March 29, 1994, at Mountain Home Air Force Base hospital.

After retiring from the Air Force in 1996 at Mountain Home Air Force Base, she worked as a contract nurse in the Mountain Home area for many years.

She accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Mountain Home. She served with the church's Women's Fellowship organization and a deaconess for the church.

She was a charter member of the Air Force Women's Museum in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of the NAACP and the Air Force Sergeant's Association.

She also served as a registrar for Mountain Home Precinct No. 1.

She was a loving, giving deep person with a multitude of concerns for others. Her family was her life.

She is survived by: her husband, C.D. Houston, of Mountain Home, her son, Matthew Houston, who is attending the University of Illinois; son Kevin E. Jones, of Kansas City, Mo.; son Jason M. Jones, of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren, RaeAnna, Brendon, Jeremiah and Mason; sister, Bennette Dibben of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers Bruce E. Reed of Ellensville, N.Y., James Reed of Anderson, Mo., and John Reed of Kansas City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Belinda Jean Reed and Brenda Joy Beilger.

Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association in the name of Becky J. Houston.
