Ralph Marchant

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

Ralph Marchant, 55, died unexpectedly on March 7, 2014.

He was born and raised in Billerica, Mass., where he met and eventually married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Marie Hatch.

After dedicating many years to the United States Air Force, he retired in 1992 and moved from Mountain Home, Idaho, to Washington state.

Known to family and friends for his unique sense of humor and straight-forwardness, Ralphie was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, so much so he became a member of America's Car Museum in Tacoma, Wash., and frequented Bremerton Raceway Drags.

A passionate and hard-working individual who took pride in any and all jobs that he performed, his dedication to his work paled in comparison to the devotion he had for his family.

He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 33 years, children Aimee and Joseph Powers, Amanda and John Rolland, Adam Marchant, and Alex and Shaina Marchant, his beloved grandchildren, Jordan and Morgan Rolland, Lily Powers, and Preston and Madison Marchant, sisters Sandra Marchant and Gail Flood, brothers Steven and Gary Marchant, in-laws Carol Gardner, Barbara Dodge, Grace and Jay Bornstein, Robert and Denise Hatch and many loved nieces and nephews, including Bethany Hatch and Greg Gardner.

He was preceded in death by Ralph and Alma Marchant, in-laws Robert and Joan Hatch, sister-in-law Ilene Bevis., and his dog, Molly.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by not only his family, but many others whose lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held Friday March 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Rill's Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366.
