Gabino Sandoval passed away peacefully on February 24, 2014 at Poplar Grove Assisted Living in Glenns Ferry. Services will be held Friday, March 7, 2014, with a viewing from 8:00 A.M. to 8:45 A.M. and the funeral service at 9:00 A.M. all at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Gabino was born in Pharr, Texas on October 25, 1922 to Isabel and Maria M. Sandoval. At a very young age his parents moved back to the State of Sinaloa, Mexico. He went to school there until he was old enough to work. He worked many jobs, around many Mexican states. He met the love of his life Elia Mejia in the late 1950's. They traveled to many states together. In 1989, he and the family moved to Grand View to work in the sugar beets. He was a field contractor for many farms in the surrounding area. He would always lend a hand to the Hispanic community that worked the fields. If you needed a job, everyone knew you could always call Gabino, because he would know who needed workers.

He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also loved his occasional Tequila shot. He will be missed very much.

Gabino is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elia of Glenns Ferry, his children Israel and his wife Concepcion Augustin and Esperanza, 5 grandkids; Noe, Elvia, Hugo, Jose, Concepcion and 15 great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents.
