Larry 'Bear' Vaught

Larry F. "Bear" Vaught, has left this earth to join his mother, Patricia Vaught, Grandpa Jack, Uncle Mike, and his beloved hunting dog, Annie.

A graveside inurnment will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

A nomad of a military family since birth, Bear continued the tradition by joining the U.S. Air Force in 1979.

He was stationed in California where he met his future wife, Susan. They married in 1981 and throughout his career he had two daughters and served at various duty stations. Bear was finally assigned to the AEF Battle Lab from which he retired after 23 years of service.

Bear loved hunting, fishing, and spoiling his dogs and grandchildren. He knew how to party hard, but also had the still of the night when it came to hunting.

He is survived by: his wife of 32 amazing years, Susan; his children, Katherine (Jon) Gerhardt and Cassandra (Travis) Bleeker; father James Vaught; and brothers Greg (Mary) and Terry Vaught, along with four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
