Riding a SXS at the Lost River Rally

There is a new ATV and Side-By-Side event that will be held in Mackay, Idaho this Summer, The Lost River Rally. This rally will feature many different group rides, a Fun Run and recreational motorsports activities for everyone to enjoy.

The Lost River Rally will be held July 18th, 19th and 20th and is shaping up to be a full scale international event. Registration for the rally is now open and people are registering from as far away as Minnesota, Southern California and Canada.

Lost River Rally is organized by the same group that organize The Rally In The Pines just outside of Yellowstone National Park. "Mackay is a great place to ride ATV's and Side X Sides", according to Meg Allen, secretary at BAM Media Productions, organizers of the rally. "And it is wonderful how the town of Mackay is completely behind the event. The Chamber Of Commerce is planing a complementary breakfast for everyone coming to ride at the rally this year." According to Meg, "People are registering from all over the country, to ride here in our beautiful State of Idaho. And, of course, many will also come to ride from right here in Idaho.

"It is fantastic to see all these different folks come together with the common bond of enjoying riding ATV's and Side X Side's. We will have a great time."

The Lost River Rally's base camp will be at the Mackay Fairground. From the base camp, named "Rally Park" for the event, is where all of the group rides will start from and all of the motorsports activities will take place.

The group rides have been rated by difficulty level. There are Scenic Rides that are at a slower pace and will stop at many of the historic sites in the area. Skilled Scenic Rides that do require some driving skill and will ride to some of the outstanding scenic locations in the area. And then there are the Challenge Rides that are for experienced drivers only. These Challenge rides still go to beautiful locations, but will be on trails that have rocks, shale and other obstacles that must be overcome. All of the group rides will have a ride leader that is an Idaho local and is familiar with the area.

Along with the group rides will be motorsports activities such as geocaching, a photo scavenger hunt and contests that will be held at the arena in the fairgrounds.

Other motorsports activities and prizes are being planned and donated by the Lost River Rally sponsors; UTV Tech, Toyskinz, ZBROZ, Applied Hi-Performance Products and more.

Accommodations in the area include local hotels and RV parks. Or for a small fee you can camp right at Rally Park. For more information visit the web site: www.lostriverrally.com or call 208-241-8596.
