The Mountain Home Tiger wrestling squad continues to have success. They picked up three more dual wins last week.

Mountain Home 67, Buhl 10

The Mountain Home Tigers built up a 42-0 lead on their way to a 67-10 dual win over the Buhl Indians last Tuesday night at Buhl.

Picking up wins by pins for the Tigers were Charlie Shoemaker (160 pounds), Pierce Mederios (106), Marxus Bernal (120), and Jordan Pendleton (138).

Tyler Heath won by major decision (11-0) at 132 pounds, and Tanner Sessions won by decision (7-2) at 145 pounds.

Winning by forfeits were Jacob Ryan (170), Taylor Ogaard (182), Blake Spagnolo (195), Dallin Dearing (220), Solomon Chung-Hee (285), and Levi Abrahamson (152).

Seth Dolan lost by major decision (11-3) at 113 pounds. The Tigers forfeited at 126 pounds.

Mountain Home 48, Bruins 30

The Tigers also wrestled Twin Falls last Tuesday night in Buhl and beat the Bruins 48-30.

Picking up wins by pins for the Tigers were Taylor Ogaard (182), Seth Dolan (106), Tyler Heath (132), Jordan Pendleton (138), Tanner Sessions (145) and Charlie Shoemaker (160).

Winning by decision were Jacob Ryan (170) and Solomon Chung-Hee (285). Pierce Mederios picked up a win by forfeit at 98 pounds.

Dallin Dearing (220) and Nick Patton (113) lost by decisions. Blake Spagnolo (195), Marxus Bernal (120) and Levi Abrahamson (152) lost by pins, and the Tigers forfeited at 126 pounds.

"I was glad about the wins, but I felt we came out a little flat," said Tiger wrestling coach Lynn Knudson. "That is one of the things the wrestlers need to do is come out every match like it's the championship match. If we can do that, and fix some of our basic moves, we can get a lot of wrestlers to state."

Mountain Home 71, Skyview 18

The Tigers picked up 12 wins in 15 matches, eight by way of forfeit, as they whipped the Skyview Hawks 71-18 in a conference dual at Skyview Thursday night.

Winning by pins for the Tigers were Pierce Mederios (98 pounds), Levi Abrahamson (152) and Solomon Chung-Hee (285). Jacob Ryan won by technical fall (17-2) at 170 pounds.

Winning by forfeits were Nick Patton (113), Dylan Park (120), Tyler Heath (132), Jordan Pendleton (138), Tanner Sessions (145), Taylor Ogaard (182), Blake Spagnolo (195) and Dallin Dearing (220).

Skyview's points came on a forfeit at 126 pounds, and from Charlie Shoemaker (160) and Jacob Lucas (106), who both lost by pins.

"It was a nice win for us, but not much wrestling with nine forfeits in the match, eight by Skyview," said Coach Knudson. "Levi Abrahamson lost to the Jantz kid earlier in the season, so it was nice seeing Levi come out and wrestle the way I know he can. I still see little things we are doing wrong and hope we can fix them this weekend at the Minico and Kimberly tournaments."

Mountain Home sent nine wrestlers to the Red Halverson Tournament at Minico over the weekend where they placed ninth as a team.

Four Tiger wrestlers placed, led by Pierce Mederios who won the 98-pound weight class.

Solomon Chung-Hee finished second at 185 pounds, Tanner Sessions finished third at 145 and Tyler Heath finished sixth at 132 pounds.

"I felt we wrestled well in certain weights, but have some guys who are so close to placing who just need to fix some really basic things," said Coach Knudson. "If we get them to do that, we can make a big difference in where we place at districts and how many wrestlers we take to state. We don't wrestle for a week, and that will give us the time to fix our problems."

The Tigers JV wrestling squad also had a successful weekend, traveling to Kimberly for the George McAdams JV Tournament. Mountain Home finished third there.

Jose Ortiz won the 285-pound weight class, and five Tigers finished third-- Hunter McCluskey at 98 pounds, Seth Dolan at 106, Tyler McCall at 160, Brett Stempfley at 170 and Blake Spagnolo at 182.

The Tigers take this week off, returning to action on Feb. 4 for a tri-match with Emmett and Bishop Kelly at home.
