Time to renew pet licenses

Thursday, January 16, 2014
The city requires every dog and cat to have their animal license renewed each year.

Officials with the Mountain Home Animal Shelter are reminding dog and cat owners to renew their annual licenses for these pets.

According to city ordinance, dogs and cats over the age of six months are required to have city tags.

The tags are good from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 of each year. Owners who do not license their animals could be cited if their dog or cat gets loose and is recovered by animal control officials.

The cost is $10 for dogs that are spayed or neutered or $20 for canines that are not. The fee for spayed or neutered cats is $5 per year or $10 for felines that are not.

People may license their pets at city hall on South 3rd East Street. Owners are required to present a current rabies vaccination record when registering their pets. For more information, call city hall at 587-2104.
