Dorothy Hansen

Dorothy Hansen, 98, of Mountain Home, passed away at her home on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.

At her request, no services will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Dorothy was born on Feb. 14, 1915, in Elgin, Ore., to Hazel and Earl Arnold. Dorothy moved to Spokane, Wash., at the age of 6.

She was married to her high school sweetheart, Tom Hansen, for 43 years. They had one child, Lynne Hansen.

She was a loving grandmother of two grandchildren, Lynne Burks and Jim Frederickson, two great-grandchildren, Chris Burks and Jenni Anderson, and one great-great-grandchild, Brody Anderson.

She spent the last years of her life living with her granddaughter, Lynne Burks.

Dorothy was active in the fraternal orders. She was a past matron of Ivanhoe Chapter OES, Past Queen of El Karnak Temple #6, a member of the PEO Chapter W and the First Congregational Church in Mountain Home.

She had a great passion for books!
