Sharon Kirkendall

Sharon Ann (Spinti) Kirkendall, 65, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home.

A graveside inurnment was held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Mountain View Cemetery. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Sharon was born on May 7, 1948, to Raymond and Isabella Spinti in Madison, Wisc. She spent most of her childhood growing up in Mountain Home and graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1966.

With her father being in the Air Force, her family got stationed in Okinawa, Japan shortly after Sharon graduated high, school. She attended night school on base in Okinawa, later returning to the states, staying with her grandparents and attending the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. When her family returned stateside, she joined them in Idaho and later graduated from Idaho State University.

After graduating, Sharon returned to Mountain Home and worked full time for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. She managed the exchange at Gowen Field in Boise but she was always hoping for a teaching position to open up for her.

Sharon married Calvin Kirkendall in 1979 and they were married 20 years. From this union they had two children.

Sharon always liked the holiday season so she could cook and bake delicious food for her family and friends. She loved all her family, but her children were her pride and joy.

Sharon is survived by her children, Rachell Kirkendall of Moscow, Idaho, and Stephen Kirkendall, father Raymond Spinti, sister Carol Wall and her brother, Jim Spinti, all of Mountain Home.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Isabella Spinti, and a brother, Michael.
