Robert Paul Johnson Jr., 73, of Hammett, died at home on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.

Bob was born on April 16, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Robert Paul, Sr. and Audrey Jean (Lamb) Johnson.

Bob attended high school in Renton, Wash.

After high school, he married Darlene Anderson on Feb. 28, 1958.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961, where he received his rifle sharpshooter badge and First Award U.S. Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. He also served in the reserves from 1961 to 1964.

Bob worked as a welder in Washington State for Boeing and Pacific Car and Foundry before moving to Boise in the mid 1960s. He continued to work as a welder for various companies until retiring from the Ada County Highway District.

After retiring, he moved to Hammett.

Bob lived out his life on the farm that he and his wife had always dreamed of having. Bob loved raising livestock, gardening, hunting, fishing and trapping.

Bob is survived by: four children, Jeannette Doolittle of Boise, Joann Fuller of Meridian, Peachy Johnson of Meridian and Robert III of Hammett; his sister, Jean Johnson, of California; brother David Johnson of Washington, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife, Darlene, and one grandchild.

No services are to be held at this time. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
