Cross country team competes at Jerome

The Mountain Home Tiger boys finished seventh out of 10 teams at the Jerome Invitational CrossRoads Point meet Friday in Jerome.

The host Jerome Tigers won the meet with 36 points. Kuna finished second with 55 points, Twin Falls was third with 90, followed by Wood River at 106, Bonneville 137, Challis 138, Mountain Home 139, Buhl 205, Dietrich 215 and Minico 270.

Anthony DeSantis led Mountain Home, finishing 12th in a time of 19:13.

Josh Robinson was 19th (19:52), Jordan Klein 32nd (20:15), Nolan Pasqualetti 39th (20:48), John Goodell 43rd (20:57) and Andy Croft 49th (21:30).

"The boys ran well," said Tiger cross country coach Doug Root. "The three freshmen are starting to improve and Nolan and John also ran well. Andy was sick."

Only two Mountain Home girls ran in the girls varsity meet.

Shilo Clark finished 21st in a time of 24:46 and Tracey Gordon finished 37th in a time of 26:53.

Elisabeth Stephens ran in the girls JV meet and finished 18th in a time of 26:37. Andrea Dickenson came in 40th in the JV meet (28:51) and Bianca Shrader finished 55th in a time of 30:35.

"Elisabeth improved her time by three minutes," said Coach Root.

Mountain Home also took its junior high cross country teams, which ran in the 3,000-meter race. The Mountain Home girls won the meet and the boys finished third.

The Tigers will host the Mountain Home Invitational Friday at Desert Canyon Golf Course.

We have 19 teams coming," said Coach Root. "We're expecting 600 to 700 runners for the meet."
