Jean was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Boise, the eldest daughter of Augustin Yrazabal and Francisca Muguira of Bizkaia, Euskadi, Spain. She was raised and educated in Mountain Home and graduated from MHHS, Class of 1937.

After high school, she moved to Boise to continue her education. However, she was abruptly called home upon her mother's unexpected death to serve as caretaker of her father and siblings.

Back in Mountain Home, Jean met and married Victor Lasuen of Bizkaia.

Over the years, Jean and Victor were blessed with three children, all raised in Mountain Home. Jean was fortunate enough to have her siblings near to her for her entire life.

Always the caretaker, her home has served as an anchor for several generations of family and friends and is an historic cornerstone of Mountain Home.

Jean worked as a cook at schools throughout Mountain Home after having been the head pie maker for the Manhattan Cafe, a local restaurant opened by her and her husband, Vic.

She also served as chief landlady over the properties her family operated.

After retirement, she served as election registrar for several years, as well as serving with the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church's Altar Society.

A loving mother, Amuma and Tia, she will be dearly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Lasuen, parents Agustin and Francisca Yrazabal, brothe, Ralph Yrazabal, sister Gloria Sillonis, her brother-in-law, Anestacio Lasuen, brother-in-law John Sillonis, brother-in-law Dale Knox and son-in-law Luis Larrea.

She is survived by her sister, Josephine Knox, children Ramona Larrea, Larry Lasuen (Nancy Hoalst) and Daniel Lasuen (Teri Lasuen), sister-in-law Ramona Yrazabal, brother-in-law John Lasuen (Matilde Lasuen), brother-in-law Eugenio Lasuen (Josie Lasuen), sister-in-law Begnina Lasuen, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
