Musical reunion

Thursday, July 25, 2013

For the first time in nearly a quarter century, a music group from Mountain Home reunited on stage during a benefit concert at Optimist Park.

Reliving their unique Americana bluegrass and country rock music, Tarwater headlined an evening of country music as part of this year's Concert in the Park series, hosted by the Mountain Home Arts Council and the city parks and recreation department.

Featuring four music groups that evening, proceeds from the concert benefited the Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department as a way of thanking local firefighters for all their efforts to save the communities of Pine, Featherville and Mountain Home following last year's fire season. The event raised more than $1,300 that evening with organizers continuing to collect donations.

People gathered in front of the stage to dance as Tarwater revived its country roots.

The Summer Concert Series continues Friday evening when Blaze and Kelly takes the stage in Carl Miller Park. The concert lineup concludes Aug. 2 as Thomas Hutchings & Anomaly return to Mountain Home.
