Leads sought in interstate crash

Tuesday, July 2, 2013

Investigators with the Elmore County Sheriff's Department are seeking leads into the cause of a single-vehicle crash that injured three people Tuesday afternoon.

According to initial reports, the gray Chevy Malibu was traveling westbound on the interstate when a semi allegedly ran the car off the road.

The vehicle went off the left shoulder into the median where it rolled over at least one, coming to rest on its roof next to the eastbound lanes near milepost 93. At least one of the people injured in the crash was flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Boise.

Sheriff's deputies reduced traffic on the east- and westbound sides of the highway to one lane each as emergency responders dealt with the crash. People who witnessed the crash are asked to call the county dispatch office at 587-2100.
