Shirley (Kopsa) Reed, 73, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home on June 24, 2013.

Her services were held Friday, June 28, at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 4950 Bradley, in Boise.

Shirley was born to Elsie and Louis Ferganchick of Austin, Colo., on Sept. 18, 1939, on the homestead ranch. She was the 11th of 12 children. Shirley was raised in a Christian home and came to know the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior at a young age.

In 1958, Shirley married J.D. Kopsa. The union was blessed with four children: Teresa Powell, Jeff Kopsa, Maria Richins, and Tempe McFarlane.

In 1966, they moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, where the children grew up and graduated from high school.

In 1977, Shirley was divorced.

In 1978, she married Ron Reed, the love of her life. He adored her children and loved them as his own. They moved to Burley, Idaho, where they lived for 13 years and in 1992 they made their home in Boise to be near family.

Shirley was the first to say that she was blessed beyond measure. Her greatest joy in life was her husband and family. Shirley knew whenever she needed a hug, prayer, someone to confide in or someone to have lunch with, one of them would be there for her. She would tell everyone that God had blessed her with the most wonderful family in the world. They were her life next to God, who always came first.

Shirley was ready for heaven and would speak about how beautiful it would be to be with Jesus, her many brothers and sisters who were already there, and her best friend in the world of 24 years, Donna Sommerville of Boise.

She is survived by: daughter Teresa Powell and her husband, Dave Powell, of Boise; her son, Jeff Kopsa, of Boise; her daughter, Maria Richins, and her husband, Jerry Richins, of Ogden, Utah; her daughter, Tempe McFarlane, and her husband, Tim McFarlane, of Emmett, Idaho; grandchildren Brandon and Kevra Powell of Boise; Aaron Davies and wife Mandy and children Kylee, Noah and Jordyn from Ogden, Utah; Jeremy and wife KitNa from Seattle Wash., with baby due in December, and her brother, Bert Ferganchick and wife Ann, who she adored.

Shirley loved to love. She dances freely with Jesus now -- free of pain -- full of joy.
