Owners need to clean up after their dogs

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Dear editor:

A local interest of respect to your neighbor's property.

Many of us have pets which are considered one of the family. Taking care of and cleaning up after them are responsibilities of every pet owner.

I am fairly new to the area and have several piles of dog feces in my front yard near the sidewalk. I sprayed something on that part of the yard to deter the dogs from doing their business on my front lawn and then found feces on the sidewalk.

I do not have a dog nor do I care to clean up after one. I ask folks to take responsibility for your pets and clean up after them.

Save your shopping bags from Walmart, Albertsons, etc. The shopping bags fit in your pocket or will loop around the ring of the leash. Simply put your hand in the bag, grab the feces and flip the bag over. You can then tie the bag and dispose of it once you arrive back home. No mess, no fuss.

Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and respecting other's property.
