The Mountain Home Lady Tigers snapped a six-game losing skid last Tuesday with a win over Columbia, and added another win against Nampa before losing at Caldwell.

Mountain Home 3, Columbia 2

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to battle back and beat Columbia 3-2 in conference softball at Memmelaar Field in Mountain Home on Tuesday.

Mountain Home, which had committed eight errors in a 19-4 loss at Emmett its last time out, played much better defense, though Columbia's two runs resulted from errors.

Heather Adams, who worked her way out of several jams, struck out eight and got good defense behind her to pick up her third win of the season.

Mountain Home 5, Nampa 4

The Mountain Home girls won their second straight game in their last at bat when Kelly Elliott singled in the winning run with one out as the Lady Tigers beat Nampa 5-4 Thursday at Memmelaar Field in Mountain Home.

Mountain Home trailed 4-3 going into the bottom of the seventh and tied the game at 4-4 on Heather Adam's double. Kelly Elliott then singled in Adams for the winning run.

"It was a great team effort," said Coach Nicolosi of the Nampa win. "The girls have a great spirit about them. The difference these last two games is they've been able to overcome their mistakes by making the 'next play.' We still might make an error, but then someone will make a great play on the next one."

Heather Adams, Morgan Vivier and Kelly Elliott each had two hits.Adams and Elliott had an RBI each, and Adams had a double. Taylor Reed and C.J. Bish had hits and RBIs. Bish's hit was a double. Maeghan Pomerantz and Madi Karst also had hits for the Lady Tigers.

Heather Adams struck out three batters and went the distance to improve to 4-9 on the season.

Caldwell 11, Mountain Home 1

Caldwell broke open a close game with six runs in the fifth inning and went on to an 11-1 win in six innings Saturday morning at Caldwell.

Caldwell scored two runs in the first inning and added two more in the third to go up 4-0.

Mountain Home got three of its five hits in the fourth inning and scored its only run of the game on a single by Kelly Elliott.

Caldwell struck for six runs in the fifth inning and added one more in the sixth to end the game, 11-1, by the 10-run rule.

"You've got to give Caldwell a lot of credit, they hit the ball well today," said Coach Nicolosi after the game. "Even when Heather made a good pitch, a lot of their hits found a hole. We couldn't do that today, unfortunately, but Caldwell did a great job of finding the holes, and that, plus getting the runs on the board."

Besides Kelly Elliott's RBI-single, Morgan Vivier, Maeghan Pomerantz, Heather Adams and Ashley Sessions had hits.

Adams suffered the loss to drop to 4-10 on the season.

The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 3-9 in conference and 5-13 on the season.

Mountain Home was at Skyview on Tuesday and hosts Bishop Kelly on Thursday. They close out their regular season schedule next week on the road to Kuna on April 30 and at Middleton on May 1.

"Our last four games end up against the top four teams in the conference," said Coach Nicolosi. "Like I told our girls, we've got to bring our 'A' game and we've got to be ready for every game, and starting in the first inning we've got to play good ball."
