Tennis squads falter at net against Caldwell, Nampa

The Mountain Home Tigers tennis team played some good tennis against Caldwell and Nampa last week, but came up short on the team scores.

Caldwell Girls 5, Mountain Home Girls 2

Caldwell Boys 6, Mountain Home Boys 1

Mountain Home picked up three wins last Tuesday in their conference tennis match at Caldwell, two by the girls team, one by the boys.

Picking up wins for the girls team were Heidi Rawlins in the #3 girls singles, 6-3, 6-4, and the #2 mixed doubles team of Brytany Minder and Marco Grajeda, 6-2, 6-2. In the other girls singles matches, Stephanie Farnsworth lost the #1 singles match 0-6, 0-6, and Kali Ireland lost the #2 match 4-6, 2-6.

In girls doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger dropped the #1 doubles match 4-6, 3-6, and Emily Gillies and Alejandra Hernandez lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6.

In boys singles, Brad Foreman was blanked 0-6, 0-6 in the #1 singles match. Timothy Austin battled tough in the #2 match but lost 4-6, 4-6. Jared Shaw lost the #3 match 0-6, 3-6.

In boys doubles, Andrew Turner and Joshua Saporta lost the #1 doubles match 1-6, 1-6 and Danny and Joey McCullough lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6. Mountain Home dropped the #1 mixed doubles match, as Kiana Galloway and Jacob Hanson lost, 3-6, 1-6

Nampa Girls 6, Mountain Home Girls 1

Nampa Boys 6, Mountain Home Boys 1

Mountain Home hosted the Nampa Bulldogs Thursday on the Richard Aguirre Park tennis courts and lost 6-1 in both girls and boys competition.

Mountain Home's lone win in girls action was the #2 doubles match, where Mary Martin and Katelyn McKenzie won their match 6-2, 6-4. Tessa Pachner and Heidi Rawlins dropped the #1 doubles match 2-6, 4-6.

In girls singles, Stephanie Farnsworth lost the #1 singles match 3-6, 3-6. Kali Ireland dropped the #2 match 0-6, 2-6 and Karina Guadarrama was blanked in the #3 match 0-6, 0-6.

In boys action, Brad Foreman won the #1 singles match 6-2, 6-3. Timothy Austin lost the #2 singles match 1-6, 0-6 and Jared Shaw dropped the #3 match 0-6, 0-6.

In boys doubles, Marco Grajeda and Steve Kreyche lost the #1 match 0-6, 0-6 and Haydon Draper and Andy Crawford lost the #2 match in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 0-6.

In mixed doubles, Jacob Hanson and Kiana Galloway lost the #1 match 0-6, 1-6 and Dustin Emerson and Kaitlyn Stevens lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6.

The Tigers travel to Columbia on Thursday, April 11, and are on the road to Jerome on Saturday.
