Helga McCoy

Monday, March 11, 2013

Helga H. McCoy, 80, a long-time resident of Mountain Home, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013.

Helga was born March 21, 1932, in Recklinghausen, Germany, to Joseph and Marie (Guntermann) Piasecki.

Helga married Joseph McCoy on May 5, 1952, in Germany. Helga came with her husband to Mountain Home, Idaho, in 1970.

They loved camping and fishing and everything about the outdoors.

Helga loved to garden and bake. She was best known for her gorgeous roses and incredible cinnamon rolls. She bowled on many leagues, played cards with her friend, but especially loved her trips to Jackpot!

She was a friend to many and loved by all.

Helga is survived by her mother, Frau Adelheid Piasecki, her brother and sisters of Germany, her son, Patrick McCoy of Boise, her son, Michael, and wife Gwen McCoy, of Mountain Home, her daughter, Barbara, and husband Charlie Heald, of Fort Worth, Texas, her daughter, Mary Fitzgerald, of Denver, Colo., and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McCoy.

God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.

Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home McMurtrey Chapel. Her ashes will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home, on Friday March 15, at 2 p.m. Friends are welcome to join the family.

Donations in Helga's memory can be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 380 SE Spokance #110, Portland, OR 97202.
