Patrick C. Kerry, of Mountain Home, passed away at the Boise Veterans Hospital Feb. 23, 2013, after a long, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home, on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m.

Patrick was born on April 7, 1935, in Spokane, Wash., to Joseph and Lucy Kerry.

He married the love of his life and soulmate, Marjorie Gayle Kincaid, on June 29, 1954. Together, they had three children: Dorothy, Mabel and Joseph.

Patrick served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957, and the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1977. While in the Army he earned his GED in 1956.

Patrick received several awards, medals and decorations including: Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Commendation Medal, 366th Civil Engineering Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Silver Star.

After he retired from the Air Force he attended Boise State University and earned his degree as a machinist.

Patrick, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend -- we love you so very much and will miss you greatly until we meet again in Heaven and we rejoice in knowing that your last breathe here on earth was your first breathe in Heaven.

Patrick is survived by: his wife, Gayle Kerry; sister Judy Clarkson, of Denver, Colo.; daughter Dorothy and husband Dave Rieker, of Eagle; daughter Mabel and husband Dave Hixson, of Killdeer, N.D.; grandchildren Davey and wife Kelly Rieker, of Boise; Jim and wife Shasta Rieker, of Bonaire, Ga.; Lisa and husband Russ Montano, of Eagle; Amanda Curtis, of Killdeer, N.D.; PJ and wife Chelsea Williams, of Kuna; Douglas and wife LeeAnn Williams, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Patrick Williams, of Killdeer, N.D., and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lucy Kerry, and son Joseph Kerry.
