Wrestlers beat Knights, lose to Kuna

The Mountain Home Tigers split a couple of conference wrestling dual matches last week, beating the Knights at Bishop Kelly and losing to Kuna at home.

Tigers 66, Knights 15

The Tigers won 11 of 15 matches Tuesday night in rolling up a 66-15 conference dual match victory at Bishop Kelly against the Knights.

Winning by pins for the Tigers were Jacob Lucas (98 pounds), Bobby Dominguez (126), Jordan Pendleton (132), Levi Abrahamson (138), Tanner Sessions (145), Jake Ryan (160) and Taylor Ogaard (182).

Picking up wins by forfeit were Aerial Groene (106 pounds), Josh Saporta (120), Josh Deal (195) and Andrew Westhart (220).

Tyler McCall lost a 4-0 decision at 152 pounds. Dallin Dearing lost by pin at 285 pounds and the Tigers forfeited at 170 pounds. Both teams forfeited at 113 pounds.

Kuna 67, Mountain Home 14

The Tigers hosted top-ranked Kuna on the mats in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium last Thursday and came out on the short end of a 67-14 match.

Mountain Home's wins came on a pin by Jake Ryan at 160 pounds, a technical fall (16-1) by Jacob Lucas at 98 pounds and an 8-6 decision by Josh Deal at 195 pounds.

Tanner Sessions lost by decision (11-4) at 145 pounds and Aerial Groene lost a major decision (11-2) at 106 pounds.

Losing by pins were Tyler McCall (152 pounds), Taylor Ogaard (182), Dallin Dearing (220), Josh Saporta (113), Bobby Dominguez (126), Jordan Pendleton (132) and Levi Abrahamson (138). The Tigers forfeited at 120, 170 and 285 pounds.

The Tigers have two matches this week. They are home today, Feb. 6, against Middleton and home Friday night for Senior Night against Caldwell.

The District Tournament is Feb. 14-15 at Kuna.
