Diana DeMeyer

Diana Mae DeMeyer, 73, of Mountain Home, entered into rest on Jan. 29, 2013.

Diana was born May 9, 1939, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Curtis and Josepha Hall. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957. She attended Lewis and Clark Junior College and acquired her teaching degree.

In 1960, she moved to Mountain Home to begin her first teaching job at Mountain Home Air Force Base, where she taught fourth grade for two years.

During that time, she met her true love, John DeMeyer, while he was working at DeMeyer Rexall Drug. They were married on Aug.19, 1961, and raised four children.

In November of 1969, Diana and John opened their own business, DeMeyer Furniture, in Mountain Home. They worked side by side for many years to build a successful family business.

Diana enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She was very kind and thoughtful to everyone she encountered and was loved and admired by many. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandma.

Diana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John DeMeyer, her parents, Curtis and Josepha Hall, her brothers, Curtis Hall and Regis Hall, and her sisters, Penelope Britton and Deborah Sule.

She is survived by: her siblings, and their spouses, Idamarie (Max) Harrington, Gordon (Shirley) Hall, and Lex (Linda) Hall; her children, Elaine (David) Peru and their children, Alisha, Matthew, David and his daughters, Ysabella and Selena; Mary DeMeyer; Raymond (Linda) DeMeyer and their children, Raquel, Travis, Jessica, Bridget and her daughter, Millee; Gloria (Ronald) Douthit and their children, Nicole, Andrew and Emily.

A viewing will be held at Rost Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 1, from 3-5 p.m., followed by a rosary service at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Friday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m.

The funeral mass will be held at the church on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
