Bowlers raise $1,700 for youth center

Thursday, January 24, 2013

City councilman Jimmy Schipani presents a check to Parents and Youth United representatives Deb Brito, Diane Haines and Olivia Wright during an informal presentation Thursday afternoon. The councilman helped organize last week's bowl-a-thon, which raised $1,720 for the community youth outlet.
Local organizers rolled in more than $1,700 during a yearly benefit aimed at helping the Mountain Home Youth Center.

Hosted by Freedom Lanes, the Second Annual Youth Center Bowl for the Kids came close to doubling the proceeds raised during the event's debut last year, according to youth center secretary Debra Brito.
