Winter storm responsible for scores of accidents

City street crews work to clear snow off American Legion Boulevard following last week's winter storm.

Last week's snowstorm left the roads slick with ice and kept emergency service crews around the county busy dealing with numerous slide-offs, a few jackknifed trucks and the occasional rollover.

Law enforcement authorities said most of the accidents were caused by drivers driving too fast for conditions.
