Robert T. Jensen, 73, of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, Dec, 5, 2012, at a Boise hospital.

Per his request, no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Robert was born on May 13, 1939, in Hutchinson, Minn., to Hans and Martha Jensen.

Upon his graduation from Hutchison High School, he joined the U.S. Navy. He was in the U.S. Navy for two years then switched over to the U.S. Air Force and was in there for 18 years. During his time in the military, he served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Okinawa, Japan.

On May 29, 1976, Robert married Janice Logan in Elko, Nev.

On Dec. 1, 1979, he was honorably retired. After retiring from the military, Robert began working in Boise as a machinist at Whiteman Industries, where he retired on June 29, 2001.

In his younger years, Robert loved hunting elk and deer and trail riding on his ATV. Later in life, Robert loved fly fishing and camping in the mountains with his camper. He also enjoyed watching woodworking shows on TV, building furniture and turning wooden bowls and vases on his lath. Robert was always ready to help with any kind of carpenter work in their home.

Robert was an avid Boise State Broncos fan. He and Janice enjoyed listening to or watching the games any chance they had.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janice, six children, Sandy, Debbie, Diane, Randy, Donna and Joe, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Susan.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and his Aunt Irene, who was very special to him.
