Corbus' community involvement makes him good commissioner

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Dear editor:

While most of our attention is on the upcoming national elections, it is extremely important to remember that our local elections have the same impact on some of the same issues: jobs, economy, etc.

As one of your former county commissioners for six years and the current Elmore County representative for the Area Agency on Aging, I feel well qualified to support Bud Corbus for the position of county commissioner.

Having known and worked with Bud over the years on several committees, boards, etc., I have seen his concern and commitment for this community.

One can't have served as a volunteer fireman for over 25 years without caring about his community.

His participation on the ambulance issues faced several years ago, the Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Hospital Foundation Board, and numerous other activities that have benefited this community over the years, show that he is truly concerned about the important issues that will continue to face this county.

If you are concerned about the quality of life for yourself, your children, your grandchildren, vote for someone who will take the time to truly listen to his constituents, thoughtfully evaluate issues, continue to learn and fulfill the duties of this important office, Bud Corbus.
