Dog day afternoon

Diesel takes the plunge as he goes to retrieve a frisbee thrown by Sue Monasteril during this year's dog pool party held Sunday afternoon at the city's outdoor swimming pool at Richard Aguirre Park.

Dozens of owners brought their canine companions to the pool throughout the afternoon to enjoy a break from the triple-digit temperatures.
